SISU
30K Ski Race
Point-to-point ski race from ABR Trails to downtown Ironwood.
First 21K are on ABR trails, last 9K into town is skied only on race day, with the exception of the 2K through the Miners Memorial Heritage Park.
Receive racer gifts, eligible for prize awards and random prize drawings.
The SISU race course begins at ABR Trails and ends in downtown Ironwood. Racers can expect well groomed trails that pass through forested landscapes, ups and downs among rocky outcrops, gentle sections along the Montreal River and a former railroad grade, and a few twists and turns through the Miners Memorial Heritage Park before the final K to the "Finnish" line in the Downtown City Square, Ironwood's newest park, completed in the Fall of 2021.

Depot Dash
For kids age 10 and under
Friday, Jan 10th, 4:00-5:00
Depot Park, Downtown Ironwood
Free event for children age 10 and under to enjoy what may be their first time on skis. Skis and boots will be provided or bring your own. Volunteers will be on hand to assist. Medals, hot chocolate and cookies, plus a small bonfire - all outdoors - good clean fun!

Post-Race Recovery
Saturday after your race
Have fun at our local restaurants and bars, gather at friends’ houses, relax in the sauna at your hotel…. Bask in the glow of your accomplishment!
Sunday
Enjoy a recovery ski at one of our local ski areas: ABR, Wolverine, Miner’s Park, the Uller Trail each offer something unique for every xc ski enthusiast.
SISU Expo
Friday 4:00-10:00pm
Saturday 10:00am-4pm
The SISU Expo will take place at the Ironwood Memorial Building in conjunction with registration and bib pick-up Friday evening and again during food service on Saturday.
Expo Vendors to be announced closer to the event
SISU Store
Look for the SISU Store at the Expo. We will be selling 2025 tee shirts, SISU notecards, SISU jewelry, and prior year’s shirts and hats.
Lost & Found
Lost & Found is at the Memorial Building at the SISU Store area on Saturday until 4pm.
Post-Race Food
Saturday noon - 4pm
Food will be available for all participants at the historic Memorial Building following the events on Saturday. Come and enjoy a hot Cornish (beef) or Veggie (vegan) pasty, fruit, cookies, beverages and camaraderie with friends after the race. Have a seat on the main floor, retreat up into the balcony of the auditorium, or take your pasty “to go.” Don’t miss out on this Yooper staple - it’s very filling and oh so yummy! Just what you need to refuel!
